The years speed by for you and me,
We still plan and enjoy to‑morrow,
Many happy days we've shared,
Few were tinged with sorrow.
Our lives to‑day enable us
To have more time and leisure,
Being more with you, my dear,
Has given me much pleasure.
Over a span of many years,
We've travelled Europe's best,
Lisbon, Greece and eternal Rome,
With these memories we are blessed.
Forest parks we once traversed,
Hills, Vales and country lanes,
The Royal Parks must now suffice,
Still the will, but energy wanes.
Now we go to London Town,
And travel without cost,
Enjoying all the sights and sounds,
No daylight hours are lost.
So much I owe to you, dear wife,
You smooth and ease life's way,
My every wish you try to grant,
With love I try to pay.
